In conclusion, there has been a problem in interpreting the concept of hegemony, which has led to it being distinguished mainly as a framework of power superior to others, however, hegemony goes beyond this conception. Hegemony implies the capacity of a State to assume responsibilities, rights and duties, carried out through its resources. Furthermore, a distinction can be made between a singular, collective, and coalitional hegemony. The Concert of Europe, Pax Britannica and the USA serve as a model to exemplify this classification. Finally, the US remains a hegemon.
