PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
May develop in one or both eyes , at any ages due to many cases subcabsular .

Nuclear cataract is linked with myopia ( nearsightedness) which becomes more , when cataract continue.

Anterior, posterior and equatorial cortex of the lens are included by cortical cataract.

NURSING MANAGEMENT
POSTOPERATIVE CARE
Anticoagulation therapy that the patient is taking should be stopped to decrease the risk of retrobulbar hemorrhage.
Aspirin also need to be stopped for 5 to 7 days, NSAIDs for 3 to 5 days and warfarin until 1,5 prothrombin time.
Administer diluting drops every 10 minutes for four doses , at least one hour before surgery.

NSAID , antibiotics and corticosteroid may be given to prevent post-operative infection and inflammation.
