Sinusitis

Definition

It is the infection and inflammation of the paranasal sinuses

Pathophysiology

Sinusitis is most commonly caused by upper upper respiratory tract infection infection of viral origin

The viral can lead to inflammation of the sinuses that usually resolves without treatment in less than 14 days

If symptoms persist for more than 3-5 days or longer they are most severe than normally infection thn a secondary bacteria is diagnosed

Asses the patients level of pain to know the next step

Explain the cause of pain to the patient
