IN NZ
if your child is under 17 years old they must go to school every day. Under the Education and Training Act 2020, parents and carers of children between 6 and 16 years old can be prosecuted if their child is away from school without a good reason.
Case
-
Today, there are still 57 million primary school aged children out of school. Millions of children are not learning because of poverty, discrimination, the quality of the education on offer, or because they are too hungry to learn. These children leave school before they acquire the basic skills and knowledge needed to thrive within society.
