The tumor forms on the meninges
They usually grow slow
They often show no symptoms
They are common types of tumor that grow on CNS
They are more common on females than on males
They can also spreed to other parts of the body
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS
Numbness
Headache
Seizures
Blurred vision
Weakness in arms or legs
Speech problems
CAUSES
Skull fractures
Neurofibromatosis
Exposure to radiation
Genetic disorder
Previous injury
Evaluation
Patient will appear relaxed
Patient will be more verbal
Reduced pain
DEFINITION
It is a tumor that forms on membrane that cover the brain and spinal cord just inside the skull
NURSING CARE PLAN
Nurses Diagnosis
Acute pain
Administer Analgesic
Asses Duration of pain
Use pain assessment tools
Apply cool compress to reduce temperatures
Anxiety
Allow expression of concerns
Encourage more visits
Educate patient and client about diagnose
Risk for injury
Asses vital signs
Asses change in vision
Maintain position of comfort
