Signs and symptoms
Positional headaches which feels worse when sitting upright
Nause and vomiting
Neck pain and stiffness
Change in hearing (muffed)
Sense of imbalance
Photophobia
Phonophobia
Pain between shoulder blades
Loss of sense of smell
Salty and metalic taste in mouth
Pathophysiology
Its occurs anywhere in spinal column. Some cerebral spinal fluid keak can ne healed with conservative treatment such as bedrest
Result from hole or tear in outer most layer of meninges, causes of hole can be head or brain injury or sinus surgery.
Nursing intervention
Encourage patient to avoid blowing
Encourage patient to avoid coughing
Encourage patient to avoid vomiting
Teach patient to avoid straining when having bowel movement
