The ocular surface of the mucosa will be exposed to allergens

Subjective data
Family history of ophthalmic conditions.
Any resent eye trauma or any ophthalmic treatment bought over the counter
Objective data
Assess for signs of infection, any foreign objects, scars, discharge coming from the eye.
Allergic reactions.
Nursing management
monitoring changes in visual acuity
administer corticosteroids
local corticosteroid drops instlilled 4-6 times a day to decrease
inflammation
patient should wear dark glasses outdoors
administration of topical antibiotics, eye drops, ointment as
prescribed

Nursing diagnosis
Disturbed sensory perception may be related to inflammation of the conjunctiva possibly evidence by swelling and irritation of the eye.
