Age Related Macular Degenerative
Definition
An eye disease that causes vision loss
Signs and symptoms
The vision becomes lesser and lesser, or even worse
Rarely, worse or different color perception
Eyes center become blurry or totally dark
Causes
It's more likely in females
High levels of cholesterol
Hypertension
Light skinned people
Smoking
Pathophysiology
This arises from degenerative changes in their chemical state of the lens protein as they elderly
Nursing Care Plan
Nursing Intervention
Ensure that the patient fully understands the laser surgery
Advise a patient on the importance of seeing the ophthalmologists
Provide large print objects and visual aids for teaching
Place a patient in a light environment to carry out some activities
Expected outcomes
Patient to gain optimal vision and allow visual changes
Patient will be able to tell about visual loss and other complications of the eye
Patients should know how to overcome permanent vision loss if happens

Definition
disorder in which the eyes don't look in the exactly the same direction at the same time
Signs and symptoms
Severe pains in the eyes
Double vision from each eye

Extremely tiredness of the eyes
Causes
Nerve unjury
Dysfunctional of muscles controlling the eye
Pathophysiology
So when the brain receives different visual messages from each eye
It simply ignores the ones from the weaker eye because they are not equally strong
It may be due to nerve damage when the muscles around the eye do not work together as normal

Nursing Intervention
Remind the patient to is corrective lenses
Assess the improvements of the vision and report any abnormalities that can appear after they went to a surgery
Assist the patient to carry out some eye excercises
Expected outcomes
Correcting the strabismus
