VASCULOPATHY

Moyamoya syndrome:
progressive stenosis of internal carotid arteries. Collaterals form that look like a cloud. More often seen in Trisomy 21, sickle cell disease, neurofibromatosis
diffuse vasculitis e.g. Takayasu's arteritis, Kawasaki's disease
- Takayasu's arteritis: young women, stenosis, dilation, aneurysms. Asymmetric pulses, unequal BPs, limb claudication, TIAs, HTN. Constitutional sx. Bruits.
- Kawasaki's disease: prolonged fever (min. 5 days), intermittent colicky abdominal pain, conjunctival injection, erythematous macular rash over trunk. Red throat, dry fissured lips, strawberry red tongue. Skin desquamation. Cervical LN.
