Verb To Be Past
Negative
It is a verb tense that allows you to express something that did not happen in the past.

Sujeto + was/were + not + complemento
Example
I was not in the office.

Question form
To ask questions in the past simple of the verb to be, you just have to put the verb first and the subject after
Were you near the stage?
The theory
In the questions, was is placed in front of I, he, she and it
Was I right?
Was it difficult?
All other pronouns have were in front.

Auxiliary Did
Question form
To form questions in the past simple, the auxiliary verb did is used.
