Resurgence of the KKK
After the film "Birth of a Nation" in 1919, the KKK began to grow again in popularity. They opposed anyone who was not a WASP, and denounced those such as "wife beaters", meaning joining appealed to many.
As such, in the 1920s, there was a huge rise in Racist attacks such as Lynching. Groups were set up to help Black Americans such as the NAACP and UNIA.
Black Tulsa Riots. After a black teen bumped into a white woman in an elevator, she cried rape and the teen was arrested. Things then escalated, and the nearby town of black Tulsa, filled with black people living the American dream and known as "Black Wall Street" due to its prosperity, was firebombed, and African Americans were violently murdered. The area has never recovered.
Wall Street Crash: After a decade of buying on the margin, the stock market crashed on black tuesday, sending america into a great depression. They Immediately recalled all foreign loans as a response, and mass unemployment was rampant.
Red Scare, Huge distrust in communists and anarchists following the Russian Revolution. Sacco and Vanzetti are an example, they were Italian anarchists unjustly given the death penalty by a judge proven to be biased.
