ECONOMIC SECTORS
Primay Sector
The primary sector includes the extraction of raw materials from nature. A very small precentage of the spanish population works in this sector
Secondary sector
The secondary sector industries use raw materials to make new products. About 30% of the active population in spain works in this sector.
Tertiary sector
The tertiary sector provides SERVICES to the populaton. More than half of te active population in spain works in this sector.

fishing is the activity of catching fish and other animals from rivers, lakes and oceans. It can be near the coast (coastal fishing) or far from the coast (deep-sea fishing).

Mining is the activity of extracting minerals and rocks from the Earth. It can take place on the Earth's surface (surface mining) or under the Earth's surface (underground mining).

Arable farming is de activity of growing crops. Dry crops only need rainwater to grow, for example, olives and wheat. Irrigated crops need a lot of extra water to grow, for example, tomatoes and potatoes.

Livestock farming is the activity of keeping animals, such as casttle, sheep, pigs or poultry. Intnsive animal farming means that animals are kept indoors and extensive animal farming means animals are usually outdoors.
