Nursing diagnosis
- poor vision due to change in color of the eyes because of excess blood in the blood vessels
- anxiety related to deficit of knowledge about the disease and management of the disease as well as self care
Nursing intervention
- irrigate the eye if the discharge is purulent
- isolate the patient because the disorder is caused by micro organisms so it is contaminated
- gently cleanse the infected eye and make sure you don't pad it
- wash hands every time after helping the patient and also encourage the patient to wash hands regular
- health educate the patient to wash hands every time before touching the eye and after
- encourage the patient to wear sun glasses if his or her eyes are sensitive to light
Problem
- eye discharge
- anxiety
- redness of the eyes
Expected outcomes
- patient to have knowledge about the disease and knowledge about the care post discharge
- normal vision to be restored

- hyperaemia
- irritation of the eye
- discharge from the eye
- loss of vision
- lymphadenopathy
Pathophysiology
When small blood vessels in the conjunctiva become inflamed, they're more visible. This is what causes the whites of your eyes to appear reddish or pink.
