- Less time to prepare -> Rushed
- Easier to get in (same shot as going to boarding in grade 9)
- Work = this year... Explore / master = next year
- Already know if I get in early -> More secure
- If don't get in can have second shot next year -> But means will waste that year in work as well -> Defeats purpose of exploring / mastering
