Endothermic reactions
When energy is taken in from the surroundings, it is endothermic and the temperature of the surroundings decreses.

Required practical
Acid and alkali
- Place polystyrene cup in a glass beaker to make it more stable
- Measure 25cm of each liquid
- Place once liquid in the polystyrene cup and record the temperature of the solution
- Add the second solution and record the highest or lowest temperature
- Change independent variable and repeat (concentration of a reactant, type of acid/alkali used)
