Redness of the eye

Redness and swelling of the eye subside

Patient avoid cross infection of bacteria and avoid touching the eye with dirty hands

Risk of infection related yo inflammation as evidenced by patient's verbal complaint of itching, burning, redness and swollen conjunctiva

Monitor signs of infection in the affected eye

Patient must perform social handwash and yo avoid touching the eye with dirty hands

Administer eye drops to cleanse the eye

Eye redness subsided

No itching and burning sensation on the eye

Itchiness

Discharge in the affected eye

Redness or pink eye

Tearing

Difficulty opening the eye in the morning or during the night

Infections and inflammation of the conjuctiva which is a thin membrane that covers the eyelid, the white part of the eyeball.

Causing the eye to be reddish or pink

Infections of the conjuctiva caused by bacteria or viruses

External contamination of the eye which spread to the conjuctiva causing infection
