Symptoms
Eating unusually large amounts of food in a specific amount of time, such as over a two-hour period.

Risk factor
Perfectionism: one of the strongest risk factor for an eating disorder if perfectionsim especially a type pf perfectionism called self-oriented.

Personal history of an anxiety disorder: Research has shown that a significant subset of people with eating disorders, including two-thirds of those with anorexia.
Behavioral inflexibility: Many people with anorexia report that, as children, they always followed the rules and felt there was one "right away" to do things.
Teasing or bullying: Being teased or bullied - especially about weight - is emerging as a risk factor in many eating disorders.

Treatment
Psychotherapy: whether in individual or group sessions, psychotherapy(also called talk therapy) can help teach you how to exchange unhealthy habits for healthy ones
Medications: Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate (Vyvanse), a drug for attention -0 deficit hyperactivity disorder, is the first DA- approved medication to treat severe binge-eating disorder.
