It is important that tobacco smoking and alcohol consumption should be temporarily withheld during the acute phase of the illness.
Take and complete antibiotics as prescribed
Take cough medications and soothing throat lozenges as ordered
Use steam inhalations if ordered, but doing this with extreme caution to prevent further throat irritation.

It is the infection and inflammation of the mucus membrane lining the larynx. It may also cause the inflammation of the vocal cord
Pathophysiology
your vocal cords become inflamed or irritated. This swelling causes distortion of the sounds produced by air passing over them.
