        Hitler wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle). This book set forth
        his beliefs and his goals for Germany. Hitler asserted that Germans where the master race
        
        Hitler and the Nazis plotted to seize power in Munich in 1923. But failed and Hitler was arrested for treason and only served nine months out of 5 years
        
        Within a short time, Hitler’s success as an organizer and speaker led him to be chosen as the leader of the Nazi Party
        
        Its policies formed the German brand
        of fascism known as Nazism.
        
        What personal characteristics helped Hitler gain success as a leader? HIs organization and speaking skills led him to be chosen.
        
        In 1919, he joined a tiny right-wing political group. The group later named itself the National Socialist German
        Workers’ Party, called Nazi for short.
- - - - Fascist Ideals are about Nationalism and Militarism the Individual matters less and you are made to support the cause. Germany made Nazism in 1920 and this form of nationalism is based of racial superiority of german people. The Italian fascists were led by Benito Mussolini. Fascism and Communism both had a won party system and were similar in a lot of ways but the main difference is Fascism kept the class system. Fascism Was for a different crowd of people.
        
        Does Fascism or Communism seem to be more concerned with the welfare of the people?
        
        Communism being about the loss of classes and making everyone equal cares a lot more about the people. The Fascist ideals were more to create a group it supports the nation and not it's people.
        
        Mussolini Takes Control
        
        Italy couldn't take large amounts of land in the war and the economy failing made people wish for a new way that was faster and could stop problems. Mussolini promised to fix everthing that was upsetting people and he would do it with fascism and him as it's strong leader. Mussolini criticized the democracy publicly. Mussolini Gained power by force threw widespread violence.
        
        Why did Mussolini’s popularity increase as Italy’s economy declined?
        
        Mussolini had a new way of thinking and promised to fix everything that people were upset about.
        
        Il Duce’s Leadership
        
        After Mussolini took power he got rid of all forms of government except facsicm. Mussolini Aressted his rivals and heavily cencerd the radio. Mussolini never could gain total contral over the economy like his peers Hitler and Stalin.
        
        Totalitarianism
        
        Mussolini wanted to achieve totalitarianism. Totalitarianism is when the government contrals all aspects of privet life.

        A fire destroyed the building where the parliament met, the Natzies took this chance to blame the comunistas which made just enough people vote for them.
        
        He used all of this new power to make Germany a Totalitarian state, which included banning all other political parties and having appoints arrested.
        
        This is just the beginning of them using violence to keep their power, the killing sprees kept people in line on the basis of fear.
        
        then they quickly and easily took control of the economy including transportation and technology.
        
        After putting millions of germans to work on factories, highways, manufactured weapons, and military. the unemployment rate went from about 6 million to 1.5 million
        
        Also created new laws that included banning strikes, independent labor unions, and giving the government authority over business and labor.
        
        Totalitarianism
        
        This was always Hitler's goal, he wanted to control everything, and he was willing to go as far as he needed in order for that to happen.
        
        Why might Germans have put their faith in Hitler? As we can see in this sentence above he is good at manipulating people, so people could have very easily seen a man that seems to have all the answers, and thought that he would be an amazing help.

        In 1933 they started with a law to deprive Jews of most of their rights
        
        this lead to something they called Kristallnacht, it was November 9th 1938, Natzi mobs attacked the houses of jews destroing thousands of Jewish owned buildings.
        
        Hitler's Final solution was just to get rid of all fo the jews which as we know is not called the Holocaust, which lead to the death of 6 million Jews
        
        What does Kristallnacht demonstrate about the power of the Nazis? I think this is were people really started to see just what they had got themselves into, the fact that he could just have people sent to your house to destroy it whenever he wants. That is a whole new level of power
        
        Escalation
        
        There was definitely a lot of escalation in this time, but this is when it really starts to jump out at you, he went from just hating the jew to actually starting to take away their tights. To eventually killing them
        
        Scientific Racism

        They even went as far as burning any books that did not go with their beliefs.
        
        School children had to join hitler's youth if they were a boy or league of german girls.
