Performance Assessment
Summary:
Performance assessments can be thought of as the application part of learning. We've learned this idea or concept, now how can students apply it. Students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have gained and cement in their brain through an engaging activity. It should be used more for promoting student learning than for giving and evaluation. These assessments promote skills like critical thinking, reasoning, creativity, and collaboration.Resource:

Assessment As Learning
Wherein students act as the ones assessing understanding and learning. Students determine through assessment what they do and do not know, and what to learn next to complete their understanding of the lesson.
- Involves lots of question asking.
- Responsibility is shifted from the teacher as the assessor to the student
- Students might assess one another, themselves, or as a group.
- The use of goals and questions allow students to determine what they do not know and should work toward.
- Considered active learning, and benefits from a growth mindset
