Sleeping Disorders
Sleep Paralysis
A state of which a persons body is either waking up or shutting down but the body is aware and cannot move. Stuck in the position they're sleeping in thye could e hallucinating here or seeing what's around them. Maybe caused in people with narcolepsy or family genes.
Sleep Walking
The act of getting up doing things while in your sleep. This can be caused by a number of things and could be hereditary. Lack of sleep or interrupted sleep, Anxiety , or even noise or touches can all be a cause of sleep walking.
Insomnia
Could be caused by a number of reasons from chronic illness , poor sleeping habits , or even lack of excerise. Insomnia is a sleeping disorder where you aren't able to fall asleep or stay asleep during the night.
Sleep Apnea
While sleeping your breathing continuously stops and starts due to soft tissues blocking your airway. Other signs of sleep apnea is loud snoring and still feeling tied after a full nights rest.
Night Terrors
Extreme episodes of screaming, intense fear or flailing in your sleep. Occurs in the deep non REM sleep. where the body is switching from one stage another.
Benefits of Sleep
Low Blood Pressure
Since sleep helps regulate hormones and stress by having a good sleep your body is able to regulate that. Also while sleeping it your blood pressure lowers.
Reduces Stress
By not getting enough sleep the body will produce an equal amount of stresss to your body. though if you have a continuous sleep schedule then those stress levels will go down as your body is restoring in the sleep cycles
Boosts the Immune System
Sleep boost your immune system since it has a function called immunological memory and where the body is able to rapidly understand there is a problem. With a good nights rest your body is able to repair and identify any infection or trauma if through imunological memory
Improves memory
Our memories through out the day tend to be our dreams. The different stages of our sleep has different memories from learning to oemthing you did. Sleep prepares out brain fro new information that will come to you as your day goes on.
Stages of Sleep

REM
The brain becomes more active. The body relaxes and immobile dreams start as well as rapid eye movement
Stage 3 NREM
The muscles relax, body pressure and breathing rate drop, deep sleep occurs.
Circadian Rhythm
An internal clock located in the brain which responds to light cues. When there is light the production of melatonin stops until darkness.
Sleep Drive
When you are most likely to fall asleep. Due to your bodies internal clock your sleep drive is implamented at this time. Its also controlled by the neurotransmitter GABA
