5G - Social Networks
A double headed arrow connecting two names indicare that two people communicate with eachother. If there is no arrow they do not talk to eachother.
These links are called one step connections because there is just one step in making first contact with the other person.
Matrix N = the number of 1 step communications between people. One step means two people can communicate directly
Matrix N2 = The number of 2-step communications between people. A two step is where two people can communicate via one person.
Matrix N3 = the number of 3-step communications between people. A three step is where two people can communicate between two other people.

5I - Codes
Some codes replace each letter of the alphabet with a randomly chosen number. However, in the english language, the three most common numbers are a,e and t which can make it easier for people to crack the code.
Matrixes can be used to encode words so that ewch letter does not have the same number throughout the coded message. This makes it difficult to decode a message.
To decode
- Work out the inverse of the secret encoding matrix, n, using your cas.
- Multiply the encoded matrix (e,g CM) by the inverse of the encoding message.
- Use the table to replace each number with its letter.
