Conclusion: The WW1 happened for several reasons, however, we could say that geopolitics are the main ones. The WW1 was a tragedy to humanity, but it brought evolution in Science/Weaponry perspective and it, together with the scientific and industrial revolution, inspired various authors to expand their scientific idea in their novel and the Rocket science. After WW1 finished, by victory of UK/France allies, the treaty of Versailles happened and it brought too much burdens and humiliation to Germany. At the moment Germany economy was totally collapsed, but League of Nations did not care about the war reparations and it brought the anger to Germans. Based on these aspects Nazism got popular in Germany and it brought various social problems. The further issue was when Germany grew their military power, other European countries tolerate it because they worried about expansion of Communism. This also happened when Germany attacked Czechoslovakia. These several reasons made Germany was able to make WW2 and Japan and other countries to involve the war. With WW2, countries of different ideologies, namely the USA and Russia, had to collaborate to deal with Nazism as a common enemy. With the end of the War though, tension between the two mentioned parties kept increasing. This tension and competition was translated to several fields: There was competition in sports, literature, and importantly, in space exploration, described as the space race. Anltough it isn't possible to point out a clear winner of the space race, it undeniably incentivised technological progress, and is responsible for numerous products of today. To conclude, the series of events listed above, although terrible for humanity, accelerated the process of space exploration and the development of important technologies, sparking again the human ambition to explore.
