She does not know how to approach masculine love, she loves Nick but knows it's wrong as he's married. Is this the result of the way her father abused her? Does she seek out a dysfunctional relationship with a man because it imitates the relationship she had with her father?

        Their relationship seems flawed though is superficially functional. Frances is secretive and assumes the worst in Bobbi sometimes, unreliable narrator. Bobbi can say and do things which provoke Frances, and she believes that Bobbi does this deliberately, though it is also likely that she does this unintentionally. Does Frances think this way because of her abuse and experience with dysfunctional relationships?
