self-esteem issues
sexuality
bisexual
dated Bobbi
had an affair with Nick
does this link to her childhood abuse?
Frances seeks to form a male relationship - it should be noted that she was unable to form a healthy paternal relationship during her childhood. She does not know how to approach masculine love, she loves Nick but knows it's wrong as he's married. Is this the result of the way her father abused her? Does she seek out a dysfunctional relationship with a man because it imitates the relationship she had with her father?
Political alignment
Bobbi often claims that Frances is a communist
comes from a working class family

Sexuality
Dated Frances
Bobbi and Frances
dated in high school, broke up since
close friends
Frances seems critical of Bobbi but never states it blatantly aloud
accuses Bobbi of being jealous of her when she says that she likes Nick and is close to him, implying Bobbi should be jealous that She is not as close to Melissa
theorises that she has a crush on Mellissa despite how Bobbi never blatantly admits this
is Frances jealous of Melissa for being closer to Bobbi than she is? Does Frances have unresolved romantic feelings for Bobbi, or is this simply platonic? Is Frances afraid of being abandoned? is this the result of her childhood trauma/ parental abuse?
speculative behaviour, toxic
Their relationship seems flawed though is superficially functional. Frances is secretive and assumes the worst in Bobbi sometimes, unreliable narrator. Bobbi can say and do things which provoke Frances, and she believes that Bobbi does this deliberately, though it is also likely that she does this unintentionally. Does Frances think this way because of her abuse and experience with dysfunctional relationships?
