Great depression left many countries in shambles, especially Germany ever since the Treaty of Versailles was signed and imposed onto Germany
Opened room for Germany to begin militarizing again and employ a new fascist Government. The ideology of Nazism was born.
France and Great Britiain saw no issue with Hitlers actions up until 1936 because they saw it as a way to contain the spread of Eastern Communism from the USSR.
Britain also agreed to the annexation of German speaking regions of Czechoslovakia in what later became a failure of appeasement

After WWI the League of Nations was created to serve as an international council of cooperation. It failed because many countries did not join and it did not have direct power to prevent certain actions from countries such as the Italian invasion of Ethiopia or Japan in China.
Japan chose militarism as a way to escape the Great Depression, so as it industrialized it began invading neighboring countries such as Vietnam, China, and Korea.

Cold War
The Outer Space treaty favored the United States since they were completing the Apollo missions at the time.
During the cold war, advancements in ICBM and ICM technology propelled further the creation of rockets. As mentioned in class before, rockets in their essence are just very powerful missiles that instead of carrying explosives, they carry passengers or probes.

Conclusion
What lessons can we learn from the 20th century geopolitics
of space in order to envision the future of space exploration?
In the past, space exploration has advanced for a greedy means. Countries disputing with each other spend millions of dollars in funding simply to be ahead of their rival and show technological and economic superiority. In order to fix these trends, we must establish more treaties in order to make space exploration a more cooperative effort between nations instead of a dispute.
