In the car Mr Remenzel was studying plans for an addition of thirty rooms to the dormitory Eli Remenzel Memory, a building in honour of his great-grandfather.

Eli is a 13-year-old boy. He is very quiet in the car because he is hiding something. Actually he didn't pass the entrance exam.
It's early spring day and a black Rolls Royce is streacking up the Connection Turnpike from New York. Ben Barkley is driving the car.
In the Rolls-Royce there is the Remenzel family which consistes of Dr. Remenzel,
his wife Sylvia and son Eli.
They are going to Whitehill Scholl for Boys; a private prep school in North Marston,
Massachusetts.
The son named Eli is going to entrol in this school for the annual semester while his father
is going to attend a meeting of the school’s board of directors.
Her husband tells her that he should not be demanding, but she has seen in the school’s catalogue that many buildings are named after the Remenzels. The rooms are for the 30 Africans who at the request of the State Department will be admitted to the school
Eli is going to draw the lots of pick up a roomate.
The mother askes him if it's ok to sleep with a African.
During the trip the black Rolls Royce approaces the old Chevrolet of Tom, doctor Remenzels old classmate at White Hill.
Tom is much poorer than Doctor Warren but he is praudly taking his son to the same school.
In fact, thanks to the donations of Remenzels Family over the years, White Hill is school open to, poorer students because it ha a lot of scolar ships.
The Remenzels go to lunch together but Eli is more and more nervous.
In the dining hall Doctor Remenezels asks his son never to use his name for privilage.
All the other are wearing uniforms from White Hill when the principal arrives.
Eli is getting more and more scared, wanting to die or disappear because he knows he hadn't passed the entrance exams. However, his parents do not know because Eli had found the letter and then tore it. For his parents not to be admitted is inconceivable.
Dr Warren, the principal of the school, arrived in the hall. The principal is very embarazed and he replies that he wrote a letter to comunicate that Eli had failed the exam and that he wasn't fit dor that school.
The reaction for two parents are very different. Silvia understands the situation and finds her son and she hugs him. Doctor Remenzels asks everyone, at the board to had met his son but they make no exceptions. The Doctor understands how much he has umiliated his son in front of everyone and they go away.
