  - - - Composite Volcanos - which are the ones with the dome
        
        Characteristics - slow flowing viscous lava, steep sided slopes made up of layers of ash, very violent eruptions
      - Shield volcanos - have a flat surface
        
        Characteristics - Fast flowing lava, cone is spread over a large area, less violent eruption
  - - - One plate is forced under another and the denser plate is destoryed
    - - Two tectonic plates slide past each other in the same direction
    - - Plates that pull apart allowing magma to come up from the mantel
