Christianity was brought to Aksum in the 4th century. This strengthened Ethiopia's trading since the Roman Empire was also just Christianized.
(Summary) The
ark of covenant
is a gold plated wooden chest, bearing the Ten Commandments that is believed to be given to Moses by God and delivered to Aksum by Menelik. No one really knows where if it's destroyed or captured, but it's believed to be stored to this day in the town of Aksum, in the St. Mary of Zion Cathedral.
