- Altered sleep pattern and discomfort
- Risk of fluid volume deficit related to diaphoresis due to increased temperature in infections
Nursing intervention
- Assess pain accurately so you can know what measures to take
Give prescribed analgesics to reduce pain
Apply warm compression
For absess , do incision and drainage as well as wound care by dressing as prescribed by the doctor
Problem
- Pain
- Patient complaining of fever
Expected outcomes
- Normal temperature
- Patient reporting no pain and is able to sleep comfortably
Causes
causes perichondritis infection is a bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Can also be caused by an injury to the ear due to: Ear surgery.
Ear piercing (especially piercing of the cartilage)
Defination
It is the inflammation and infection of the outer covering cartilage of the ear called pinna or auricle.
Pathophysiology
It's often brought on by water that remains in your ear, creating a moist environment that aids the growth of bacteria
