NURSING INTERVENTIONS

Ensure that the patient is at rest , and comfortable position or environment.
Examine the skin two times a day , for allergies or side effects.

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Infections pharyngitis, bacteria or viruses may directly invade the pharyngeal mucosa, causing a local inflammatory response.
Other viruses, such as rhinovirus and coronavirus, can cause irritation of pharyngeal mucosa secondary to nasal secretions.
Extracellular factors such as proteases facilitate the tissue invasion and cause the inflammation that elicits swelling, exudates, fever, and pain with swallowing.
NURSING DIAGNOSIS

Imbalance nutrition lower than the one that is needed for an individual with difficulty in swallowing.

DEFINITION
Pain or irritation in the throat that can occur with or without swallowing, usually linked with infections, such as a cold or flu.
