It can be started by trauma, nasal picking, coagulopathies, and tumors
Clinical manifestation

spitting, coughing, or vomiting of blood
Nursing intervention
Assist the patient to a sitting position and apply pressure by pinching the anterior portion of the nose for about 5 to 10 minutes continously

Give prescribed vasoconstrictors e.d adrenalin,hydrochloride and phenylephrine
