Pathophysiology

The inflammation of the vocal cords in the larynx for less than 3 weeks, more than 3 weeks is chronic. This results ffom irritation, infections or overuse of vocal cords.
Normally the larynx opens and closes smoothly without any pain but when inflammed, hoarseness voice and sore throat is present.
