Pathophysiology

Otitis external is the affecion of the external auditory canal which disturbs the dound impulses from being transmitted to the Middle ear, the hearing loss is acquired.
Due to bacterial infections, irritation of the external ear which leads to formation and accumulation of wax and cerumen and then inflammation takes place.
The external skin of the external ear becomes reddish in colour, warm, tendernes and swelling is manifested because of inflammation

Nursing diagnosis
Risk of infection due to bacterial infections of the external ear as manifested by swelling and redness, and pain
Nursing interventions
Assess patients level of pain, site and severity and grade it fro 0-10

There is no infection, swelling and ear redness subsided
Definition
The Otitis externa is the infection or inflammation of the external ear(redness and swelling of the external ear) caused by irritation, bacterial infections or allergies.
