- altered nutritional status and risk to fluid volume deficit
- altered sleep pattern and comfort
nursing interventions
- increase fluid intake to flush the throat
- isolate the patient as the condition is contageous and teach the patient cough ettiqutte and encourage him or her to wash hands regulary
- administer antibiotics for the infection and pain the throat
- discourage the patient to stop smoking and staying away from fumes and dusts as well as air pollutants

- difficult in swallowing

- patient able to swallow without any difficulties
- temperature back to normal

diagnosis

Throat culture: Secretion from the throat is taken through a cotton swab to detect the presence of virus or bacteria.
Blood test: It is performed if the doctor suspects that there might be any other cause responsible for Pharyngitis.
