nursing diagnosis
- altered nutrition and risk to fluid volume deficit related to patient inability to drink or swallow
- loss of function of the larynx as is not able to produce voice or produce horse voice
nursing interventions
- increase fluid intake to help soothe the throat
- encourage the patient to gaggle with warm water and salt to help with sore throat
- administer the antibiotics and analgesics to help the infection and the sore throat
- teach the patient cough etiqutte and wash hands regulary
- encourage the patient to cough to remove the secretions in the throat
- use steam inhalations if ordered but prevent futher irritation

causes
it is caused by virus or bacteria or sudden changes in the weather such as cold or wind blowing irritating dusts or fumes
signs and symptoms

examination
Biopsy: For further examinations, sample is taken from the back of the throat.
procedure
Laryngoscopy: To check for a persistent cough, hoarseness, and inflammation by looking into the back of the throat.
