In a bus topology, all devices are connected to a single cable. This cable (also called the "backbone" cable) controls all data flow, and with two terminators at each end, they stop any data from reflecting back and interfering with the network. Fortunately, a bus topology is the cheapest topology and ,like the star topology, the network is unaffected when a device fails. However, there is a lot more data collisions, slowing down the network, making it more vulnerable to a poorer bandwidth. Also if the backbone cable breaks, the whole network fails, making the bus topology very unreliable.
