Theory 1
Erik Erikson
At the center of Erikson's theory, was the belief that in each one of his discovered stages, one faces a crisis that needs to be dealt with so that we can develop both in an emotional and social manner.

He built his theory based on Sigmund Freuds work and added an additional eight stages of development throughout ones lifespan, separate to Freuds stages.

In the 1970's Ainsworth built her theory based on John Bowlby's work, where she created an experiment to examine the quality of the attachment that parents and children share.
Definition
Emotional development includes the discovery of what ones feelings and emotions are and the ability to grasp where they come from and why we experience them.
