      - Allows the creation of typed documents such as letters, memos, or business proposals. Optimised for text creation, including formatting, spell check, and language tools.
    - - Microsoft PowerPoint
      - Used to create visual slides to be used during a verbal presentation. Formatted to the size of the computer screen, not paper. Can contain images, videos, audio, hyperlinks.
    - - Microsoft Excel
      - Used to perform large amounts of calculations such as managing finances or grades. Divided into a grid of cells labelled with letters and numbers. Spreadsheets support automatic recalculation.
    - - Microsoft Publisher
      - Used for the creation of documents such as leaflets, posters, brochures, newsletters, etc. Often confused with word processing software. Allows significantly more control over page layout and formatting.
    - - Microsoft Access
      - Used to create, store, structure, and sort a collection of data about a set of items. Can be used to create reports. Can be simple or complex.

      - Used to create or edit digital images. May include effects, manipulation tools, cropping and rotating, as well as many other transformations. Vector graphic software allows for the creation of mathematical shapes that can be infinitely scaled.

      - Used to record, edit, and mix digital audio. Multiple tracks can be recorded and combined with various effects applied to it. Heavily used in the music and film industry as well as within podcast creation.

      - Allows images, sound, and video to be combined. Cuts can be made and titles added. Some can combine and overlay video and images from multiple sources.

      - Software used to create interactive presentations, or games that could be hosted on the web.
    - - Helps manage finances from small personal to business finances. More specialised than spreadsheet software and includes necessary features to manage payroll, sales, and billing. Often customisable to meet a users needs.
      - Quickbooks, Freshbooks

      - Designed for users who regularly attend lectures, classes, or conferences. Text entered might be free form (not restricted by lines on a page). Easy integration of diagrams, images, video, audio. Could take handwriting input.

      - Used to browse the web, access email, social networks, or cloud computing software. Extensions can be added to modern browsers to add features.
