Neoliberalism, public health, and the moral perils of fatness
-

Fat=unhealthy=bad
harvey levenstien quote seemed unnecessary. something about this whole paper feels off base. very white woman moment. am i being an asshole maybe but this author is very off putting
fatness is equated with laziness i.e. lack of production or contribution to/under capitalism. preindustrial revolution this implied wealth but trends revesed sense then.
-
also post industrial revolution leisure time [time for exercise {what does this really have to do w fatness bc plenty of fat people work out whatever}] was only a thing for people with money
crazy too considering neoliberalism is reliant on capitalism regardless of power and governance.... neoliberal self governance is still based on capitalist consumption,,,
this refusal to release capitalism and the implementation of "good choices" also so white feminism. like white ideals of freedom are based in choice capitalism {remember how she just left out food deserts},
white woman moment bc there is not analysis of the systems and beliefs at the root of issue being discussed. white feminism to a tee, this isnt about feminism but still the argument applies

"neoliberal governance" EXPLAIN authors have to stop saying things without defining them. it always key terms too.
there is so many better ways to say this. also the idea is like weird. basically neoliberalism in this context wants people to consume food on a large scale to make a profit but to look thin? this whole idea is odd. and is the author not making some interesting implications about the causes of fatness and the habits of fat people by making this claim hm
bad food is cheaper,.. missing some critical info here
