ANALYSIS OF IRF IN CLASSROOM
INTERACTION IN EFL SPEAKING CLASS
CONCLUSIONS
TEACHERS
This article shows how the teacher initiation portrays the teacher-student interaction in the speaking class by asking questions and identifying the students who will get the opportunity to answer.
This is in line with the IRF pattern wherein the classroom activities, the student's response dominantly occurred depending on the material used in the lesson and how teachers encourage the students to get involved.
We can conclude that the interaction during teaching-learning activities were full of IRF pattern sequences.
STUDENTS
The student should be more actively involved in the classroom to attain a better outcome in conducting classroom interaction in speaking class.
They should generate opportunities for themselves and devise ways to fully practice and study the language to engage and contribute during class fully.
The students should also improve their motivation to learn English by learning and practising the language.
