Investigate a relationship between level of Flora and Soil health.
Location
ASMS back area
TEST 3 DIFFRENT AREAS (large sample size)
Flinders UNI oval
TEST 3 DIFFRENT AREAS (large sample size)

TEST 3 DIFFRENT AREAS (large sample size)
Independant Variables
Soil
Limitations
environmental shifts
shifts in temperature and wether effects soil levels before flora there for causing potential inaccuracy in the results.
soil concentration
in the soil samples how much is really soil to small rocks, leaves, rubbish etc.
time
due to limited time limited amount tests can be taken
human error
method of testing (may be not thorough enough
insuffiencent method can lead to inaccuracy's in data
Equipment being used
Ph meter
soil data probe
Dependant variables
Flora
controlled variables
Number of times each location was tested
this was controlled by having a set number of tests to complete (3)
Location
amount of soil tested
duration of of time counting number of plant species
Uncontrolled variables
environmental shifts
whether
light
tempriture
humidity
amount of soil to debris in soil sample
Graphing techniques
Tables
Basic data collection
Scatter plot
Identify linear patterns within the data collected
Bar chart
Bar charts are used to compare Soil health levels to flora levels
Compare the pattern with a normal distribution
Doing this can help identify patterns
identifying patterns allows predictions and conclusions to be formed based on the accuracy and consistency of the data
Flora testing method
Area sampling with measuring tape
these methods relate back to the research question as they indicate the number of present flora species
quadrant measuring with grid wire
Possible plant species
Trees
Gum Tree
Leaves
Bark
eucalyptus species
Celtis
grass species
aloes
Jasmine
agapanthus
Soil testing method
Ph Testing - soil sampling
Ph meter
Moisture Testing - Moisture indicator device
Soil data probe
These testing methods relate back to the research question as they are the methods in which indicate the soil health.
Other potential research inquiries/questions
differ between soil Ph and moisture levels around trees compared to smaller plants.
How do diffrent species of flora effect soil moisture, for example plants vs tress.
Method
Find 5 diffrent areas per the 3 enviroments selected
test all diffrent areas for the amount of flora using testing techniques above.
after measuring the flora level sample the soil and tests its Ph level while also testing moisture levels.
After collecting data use the Graphing techniques abouve
Identify patterns in data and make conclusions upon it
Hypothesis
It is hypothesised that the lower the soil moisture and Ph levels are less flora will be present.
