Cell Transport - Coggle Diagram
Cell Transport
Transport
Passive
-
Process
Movement of a solute from high concentration one side of the cell membrane to a low concentration on the opposite side.
Diffusion
It does not require the assistance of membrane proteins. The particle or substance moves from higher to lower concentration.
Osmosis
The movement of water moleculesacross a semipermeable membrane from an area with high water concentration to an area with a low one.
Active
Process
Different from Passive transport, because this process goes against the concentration gradient, because of this, it requires energy which is given in form of ATP.
Definition
Movement of a solute from low concentration one side of the cell membrane to a high concentration on the opposite side.
-
Encytosis
It is the process by which cells take in substances from outside of the cell by wrapping them in a vesicle. This can happen when the molecule is too big to go thorugh the cell membrane alone.
Exocytosis
It is the process of the cell moving materials within it to the outside environment. Cells do this by fusing a vesicle with the plasma membrane, allowing its contents to be released outside the cell.
