- congenital nevi: present by birth
- more chance to develop into melanoma
- dysplastic nevi: larger than the normal size and appears irregular in shape
more number of d.n increases risk for melanoma. nevertheless, most of the dysplastic nevi do not grow into melanoma
surgical management

surgical shave : use of blades to remove the moles and the skin heals without stitching
- if it grows back, notify the health service to prevent melanoma development

it is the skin growth that appears pink, tanned, brown and black and seen any where in the skin surface
usually appears in the early childhood and in the early 30 years of age. it is normal to have 10 to 40 mole until we reach adulthood
cause: growth of melanocyte in clusters instead of spreading throughout the skin
- excessive exposure to sunlight during childhood period causes moles appearance
- during pregnancy and teenage it appears more darker
