Ho Chi Min trail

Cu Chi Tunnel System

The Ho Chi Min trail was the main supply route for the Vietcong and the North Vietnamese. It ran through neighbouring countries Laos and Cambodia and eventually became of better quality being paved etc.
Several American attempts were made to bomb the path but none of them were that effective

Hue was the main target for the Tet offensive by the Vietcong.
The city was flattened in the aftermath of the fighting for Hue and was recaptured by US after the Battle.

The tunnel system was a 70 mile long system of many tunnels that lead directly into the City of Hue.
the tunnels made it easier for the Vietcong to get into Hue

Tunnel Rats

Tunnel Rats were sent into the tunnels in South Korea only armed with a pistol and a torch. It was highly unlikely that a tunnel rat would come back from the tunnels

US would go out looking for opposition soldiers and if they found them they would go full attack until they took the area. However the opponent normally reclaimed the land because it was left undefended
