Teachers: should try various methods to meet the needs of a student
Use differentiated instruction based on student's strengths and interest.
Use collaboration by having students work together and learn from each other.
Use one-on-one time by figuring out what the student is struggling with and give them extra help.
Use positive feedback to increase the student's confidence and motivation.
Counselors
can help resolve personal issues through discussions.
can assist with academics by setting specific learning goals and plans.
can help the student focus on their positive traits and strengths and guide them in developing the skills they already possess.
School
can encourage parental involvement.
can arrange a meeting with other teachers to share their experiences with the same issue and suggestions.
Parents
should share their concerns with the school and brainstorm the strategies to help their child.
may request a referral for an educational evaluation to see if their child has any learning disability.
have open and honest communication with their child. Listen to their feelings, concerns, and any difficulties they are facing and let them know that they are there for them.
can provide extra support to their child by helping with their homework or school work.
The student shows abnormal behaviors like aggression, frustration, irritability, or explosive reactions.
