Verbs without ING
- COGNITIVE: THINK, AGREE, MIND, BELIEVE, DOUBT, WANT, PROMISE, SUPPOSE, FEEL I think he is a good man. I am thinking about him right now.
3.SENSES: FEEL, SMELL, SEE, TASTE, HEAR The soup tastes delicious. I am tasting it again to see if it needs more salt.
- HAVE, OWN, BELONG I have a cat vs. I am having a party. If the verb does not mean to own and refers to an ACTION then it can get ING.
FEELINGS: LOVE, HATE, LIKE, DISLIKE I love books. The MC slogan I'm loving it is a mistake made on purpose, a marketing hack.
SIMPLE
MARKERS: Last, yesterday, ago, dates (in 1999. on March 13th etc)

RULES: add -ED for regular verbs. Second column (V2) in the list for the irregular verbs. (CHECK THE COLOURED LIST!)

When adding -ING
If the verb ends in Cons1 Voc Cons2 then Cons2 x2 +ING: stop - stopping, set-setting, travel- travelling, begin-beginning
If the verb ends in IE, it transforms into Y: die-dying, lie-lying
f the verb ends Cons E remove the E+ING: come-coming, make-making
When adding -ED
If the verb ends in Cons1 Voc Cons2 then Cons2 x2 +ED: stop - stopped, travel- travelled, plan-planned
If the verb ends Cons E remove the E+ ED: love-loved, pace-paced, smile-smiled
If the verb ends in Voc Y then add ED: play-played, stay-stayed, obey-obeyed. If the verb ends in Cons Y then Y transforms into I+ED: fry-fried, carry-carried, study-studied
