Green rating mandatory, regularly occupied spaces - Coggle Diagram
Green rating mandatory
Site selection & Planning
Local Building regulations and safety compliance
Soil erosion Control
Sanitization & hygiene
post occupancy solid waste management
Segregate municipal waste generated in healthcare facilities at source, so as to prevent the waste being
sent to land-fills
Building-level Facility
Provide separate bins to collect dry waste (paper, plastic, metals, glass, etc.,) and wet waste
(organic), at all floors and common areas of the facility, as applicable.
Divert the collected waste to
a centralised facility, which is easily accessible for hauling
Centralised Facility
In addition to dry and wet waste bins, provide separate bins for safe disposal of the following
hazardous waste, at the centralised facility
‘e’ waste
Lamps
Battery
bio medical waste management floor and centralized level
Segregate bio-medical waste at source, so as to prevent direct exposure, thereby improving sanitation & hygiene
Solid Bio-medical Waste Management
separate bins at all floor levels to collect biomedical waste.
Chemical Liquid Bio-medical Waste Management
Provide separate collection system (at lab & centralized level) to carry chemical liquid waste leading to effluent treatment system (ETP)
Building Material and Resources
Handling waste Materials, during construction
Energy Efficiency
OZONE Depleting substance
Encourage use of eco-friendly refrigerants and halons in the facility, thereby minimizing negative impact
on the ozone layer.
CFC-free Refrigerants
Demonstrate that refrigerants used in the facility Heating, Ventilation & Air-conditioning (HVAC)
equipment are CFC (Chloro Fluoro Carbon)-free.
Halon-free Fire Suppression Systems
Demonstrate that fire suppression systems used in the facility are free from Halons or any other
ozone depleting substances
Minimum energy efficiency Optimise energy consumption, so as to reduce negative environmental impacts from excessive energy
use.
Non air-conditioned healthcare facilities: (Prescriptive Approach)
Heating Systems:
Fans
Air-conditioning Systems
Pumps & Motors
Lighting
Building Envelope
Case A - Air-conditioned healthcare facilities
Commissioning Plan for Building Equipment & Systems
Water Conservation
Rain water harvesting, roof and non roof
Water effiecient plumbing fixtures
Indoor environmental quality and wellbeing
Minimum fresh air ventilation
Occupied spaces adequately ventilated
a. Mechanincally ventilated spaces
b. Non air conditioned spaces
operable windows and / or doors to the exteriors, in atleast 50% of the regularly occupied areas*
Cross Ventilation Ensure atleast 50% of the regularly occupied spaces shall have an opening (door/ ventilators/ windows) to the outdoor environment, in atleast two of the orientation
tabacco smoke control
Minimise exposure of non-smokers to the adverse health impacts arising due to passive smoking in the
building.
Demonstrate that smoking is prohibited within 100 m of the site/ campus.
Demonstrate that smoking is prohibited in the building, and is in accordance with the regulations of
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
