Example: CEOs have legitimating power in the workplace which influences employees to commit to the company's mission and vision.

Groupthink
Example: In 1961, President Kennedy ordered a secret CIA mission to invade Cuba through Bay of Pigs and overthrow the communist government headed by Fidel Castro. This is an example of groupthink because Kennedy made it clear to the group that he wanted to invade Cuba. Others in the group then quickly "conformed" and in the end there was a unanimous decision to invade Cuba.
