Representative Democracy!
What Do Representatives Do?
Well representatives look out for their people and try to think what is best of them!
Representatives speaking on behalf of their people and the people that cant be heard. And I'm not talking about people who are mute I'm talking about the people that don't dare to say anything to speak up for themselves
Representatives think up solutions on how to fix their people's problems and they go out to meetings etc. and they tell the people their solution!
What are Representatives accountable for?
Well, representatives are accountable for how they tell things and how they communicate. Let's say someday it's the day that the representative of your group is going to tell this big idea that your group had to all of the school but your representative can't explain things very well and the school gets the wrong idea that's the representative's fault they are ACCOUNTABLE for that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Representatives are accountable for what they say for example you had this Idea that could change the world but when it's finally time to present it your representative says something completely different that is their fault and super-duper frustrating. I would get really mad because all of that work would go down the drain! :
EEEK
Representatives are accountable and counted one for having sensible ideas. So when you are having a meeting and planning an event that your school is going to love. But your representative has a crazy non sensible ideas like, " We can have dancing monkeys and fire breathing dragons all walking a tight rope while juggle 2 human beings!" you can't really count on that person to lead you well because their imagination get the best of them.
Purpose of Associations!
Well associations have varies purposes but associations usually come together for a purpose they all want to take action or support.
An associations called the MNA's ( metis nation in Alberta) purpose and their purpose is to represent the voice of Metis people in Alberta!
The ACFA (French Canadian Association of Alberta) purpose is to strengthen the Alberta francophone community.
How Associations Make Decisions?
Well, every association makes decisions differently so it really depends on which associations you are talking about.
The ACFA makes decisions by an Annual general meeting and those who are 16 years of age and older can attend. And voting is a big part too.
The MNA makes decisions by also having a yearly meeting. but anyone can attend. It is hosted in a different place each year.
How Associations Communicate with their
Members
Each associations communicate differently so there are usually presidents and vice presidents members can talk to when they need to.
The MNA takes this president and vice president idea and they have 6 presidents and 6 vice president and 1 over all president. there is one president for each region and one vice president. and if a member needs to contact someone they can.
the ACFA have service point scattered all over Canada they also have a website if you need some one urgently or of they need to make an announcement urgently they post it one their website.
