The ancient Romans were great builders and architects. They were inspired by the Greek architect and were also creative in their designs and use of materials.

The Romans invented concrete which was easier to use than solid stone. With concrete, theey were able to build large and sturdy buildings.

The Romans also discovered how to use arches to create tall, strong walls and doorways.

The ancient Roman built toilets for use by members of the public. These public toilets had rows of holes carved into marble slabs and had their own plumbling and sewers. Sometimes, they also used water from bathhouses to flush away human waste.
